Base Years: A wage earner’s base years for
computing Social Security benefits are the years after
1950 up to the year of entitlement. For a survivor's
claim, the base years include the year of the worker's
death.
Benefits: Retirement, Disability, Dependents,
Survivors and Medicare are the five (5) categories
within the Social Security system that you may receive
benefits under.
Beneficiary: Anyone who receives Social Security
benefits.
